EVO ICL

Do you want to achieve clear vision and freedom from glasses and contacts? Are you looking for an alternative to LASIK? Cape Fear Cataract & Cornea offers the EVO ICL, a revolutionary vision correction procedure that can give patients with nearsightedness and astigmatism the crystal-clear vision of their dreams.

What is the EVO ICL?

The EVO ICL is an implantable collamer lens that can be placed between the iris and the natural lens of the eye to permanently correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness and astigmatism. Because it sits close to the lens of the eye, it often provides patients with even better vision than they could achieve with glasses.

The lens is biocompatible with the eye because it is made of collamer, which contains polymer and collagen. It will integrate seamlessly with your vision, meaning you won’t be able to tell it’s there. The EVO ICL is different from other vision correction procedures because, unlike LASIK, PRK, and SMILE, it is reversible. If you want to remove the EVO ICL at any point, your eye doctor can take it out and restore your vision to the way it was before.

What are the Benefits of the EVO ICL?

When you choose the EVO ICL, you’re not only choosing to correct your vision. You’re also choosing:

Relying on glasses and contacts to see clearly can become both a hassle and an unwanted expense. When you get the EVO ICL, you’ll be paying a one-time cost to enjoy clear vision for many years.

The EVO ICL can reduce or eliminate your need to use visual aids altogether. Instead, you can enjoy clearer vision than you ever had with glasses and lead the lifestyle you want without being held back.

This means you won’t have to worry about your contacts drying out during a day at the beach or making sure your glasses don’t fall off while playing your favorite sports. The EVO ICL makes being spontaneous easier, allowing you to live in the moment without planning around your vision.

Unlike other vision correction procedures, the EVO ICL does not permanently remove or reshape any part of the eye. Instead, the EVO ICL is an additive lens, enhancing your vision and yet removable in the future.

The EVO ICL procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and virtually painless. You won’t have to worry about long recovery times, as many patients are able to go back to work the next day and notice immediate improvements in their vision.

The EVO ICL is also UV blocking which can help protect your eyes from the sun.

If you are severely nearsighted and have been told your prescription is too high for laser vision correction procedures, the EVO ICL could be right for you. The EVO ICL can correct myopia up to -15.00 diopters and provide a significant reduction of myopia up to -20.0 diopters.

What to Expect During the EVO ICL Procedure

Your surgeon at Cape Fear Cataract & Cornea will begin your procedure by administering numbing eye drops to ensure your comfort throughout the process. They will also offer you a sedative to calm your nerves.

Then, your surgeon will create two tiny incisions along the edge of your cornea and carefully insert the lens behind the iris. They will ensure it is appropriately positioned, and then your procedure is complete.

The entire process takes only about 10 to 15 minutes per eye, and then you can have a friend or loved one drive you home to begin the recovery process.

What to Expect After Getting the EVO ICL

Recovering after the EVO ICL procedure is typically quick and easy. Many patients see visual improvements immediately and can return to normal activities within 1-2 days.

Your eye doctor will send you home with prescription eye drops to help reduce inflammation and prevent the risk of infection. It is essential that you follow all their post-operative instructions to ensure the best outcomes.

At your follow-up appointments, your eye doctor will let you know when it’s safe to resume driving and other activities. They will also carefully examine your eyes to ensure you are healing well and happy with your vision.

Then, you can start enjoying your new high-definition vision. You’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to go through your day without worrying about smudging your glasses or your contacts drying out your eyes.

Instead, you’ll be doing all your favorite activities with the clear vision you’ve always dreamed of having!
